My Second Week

Greetings from the Schick house!

This is Kelly writing, so I've chosen the red font.  I can't believe this is already our second week home with Coen.  We are beginning to adjust to our new life and we couldn't be happier.  Coen is such a sweet little guy and we are enjoying each and every moment with him.

Last Thursday Coen had his first doctor's appointment.    It got off to a rough start when  they took off his diaper and he peed all over the table.  I realized then that I forgot to bring the diaper bag with us, so Coen had to wear a diaper from the office that was quite large.  Hopefully that's the last time I'll forget such an important item.  The appointment went well and he is already back to birth weight.  We figured he would be a good eater like his daddy!

Friday was another big day for the little man as he was in-studio with his daddy in the morning for the last segment of "Schick and Nick."  Coen looked a little bored, but he still made his appearance on the webcam. 

Today has been a great day in the Schick house.  Coen has been awake for much of the day and we have enjoyed playing and talking with him.  It was also a beautiful day outside and we strapped Coen in his Baby Bjorn and went for a short walk down the street and back.  Coen managed to fall asleep shortly before the walk began, so he missed the whole thing. 

We continue to be amazed at this gift that we've been given and despite a tough first week, I can't believe how much I love this little boy already.  Matt has been so good with Coen and I'm so grateful that we made the decision for him to stay in radio this past summer.  It just wouldn't be fair for him to be away from this sweet face all day!
