Last week we celebrated Coen's first Thanksgiving. We had such a wonderful time with our families and I'm sure Coen enjoyed getting to spend time with all of his grandparents. He even got to meet his Uncle Ryan and Aunt Steph and Uncle Mike and Aunt Kristen.
We traveled to Lincoln to spend Thanksgiving there with my dad and Jodell ( Nana and Poppy), Matt's parents (Nanny and Pops), and Matt's brother Ryan and his wife Steph. Coen also got to see my mom and Scott (Baba and Grampo) on Thanksgiving day. As you can see, there will be a lot of names for Coen to remember when he gets a bit older. It might be a good idea for everyone to wear name tags just so we don't get all of these names confused!
We had such a good time and Coen really loved being held and cuddled all day long. On Friday all of the guys went to the final Nebraska/Colorado football game and the rest of us stayed at home to watch it on t.v. Coen was supporting Nebraska with his Husker socks, but I think he slept through most of the game. On Friday evening Jodell's family arrived to celebrate her birthday. Everyone enjoyed watching the little owl on the front porch and all of the little boys were quite entertained when they discovered it eating a bird. Coen managed to sleep through all of this too!
We stayed in Lincoln until Saturday and then everyone made the trip back to Omaha. Coen was able to spend a little more time with his grandparents and Ryan and Steph and then on Sunday he finally got to meet his Uncle Mike and Aunt Kristen.
It was a very eventful weekend and we are so grateful that we were able to celebrate with our families. Unfortunately my brother JR wasn't able to come home and still hasn't gotten to meet his nephew. We missed him but can't wait to see him in January!
